I took my entire bachelor's degree there, 1997-2000. At the time it was an excellent choice for an arts-based program (linguistics and Classics). There was a flat tuition and I could take as many courses as I wanted. The professors were all excellent. Beyond the requirements for my two majors, and a few required classes for Mediterranean civilization, there were no other required classes (such as math or science, like happens at universities in the U.S.). I had the choice to complete a standard, three-year degree, or an honors, four-year degree; I chose the former and felt (still feel) satisfied I received enough education, and am grateful I did not have to go through a thesis. Since graduation all those years ago, I have never regretted my decision to take my education overseas to UofM.

Thanks for that.  I've seen it's highly rated on worldwide rankings.  It will be free for EU students.  This is a massive attraction.  But the cost of living might be problematic.  Luckily there are direct flights from here (Budapest) to Malta on lower cost airlines like Wizzair and I think Ryanair. 

We're in a bit of a dilemma as we also have an offer from a prestigious university here in Hungary (not free) but University of Malta has been on the cards for some time.  The end cost is probably going to be the same.
