On Pronunciation of Pattaya

As many many folks here seem to reside in the seaside resort. I hear many farangs, be it English or non-English, put the emphasis on the second syllable, Pa-'tah-ya.

Which is wrong, it is on the first one: 'Pat-tayah.

Correct馃憤馃徎. Lived there over 40 years ago and that was the only way it was pronounced, must have got lost in translation somewhere along the line, not that it matters really but i know what you mean.
