Hi! I am moving to Vietnam for at least a year. I am on 2 psychiatric medications. How do I find if they are available in Vietnam? How would I get them there? Any help and advice would be great, thank you.

Hello.

Can you send me the photos or names of 2 psychiatric medications?

I'll go to pharmacy and ask them if they sale it or not and how you can buy it.

Some of medicines you can buy easily, some of medicines you have to show doctor's prescription.

In case those 2 psychiatric medications are not bought at pharmacy, I would send you the list of International Hospitals where they use English. You can call them and ask.

"I" would use Google Translate to do my search(es) in Tiếng Việt to get the most relevant information.

If you can determine the availability of your meds (seach brand name AND generic name) you might be able to get them over the counter by showing your current prescription bottle.

However, if your medications are "controlled", you'll almost certainly need to get a prescription from a physician at a hospital.

A good search tool is the .

You can not only search for your med in the database but I believe there is a chat function where you can find out if the medication is allowed in Vietnam and then set up an appointment to see a physician when you arrive.

Otherwise, we are totally clueless to help you since you didn't tell us the names of the medications.

Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your upcoming move.

Prior to investing the time and energy in determining their availability, it would do you well to confirm the status of your medications as they pertain to Vietnam regulations.
