Hi everyone, Hope you all are doing well.

I would like to have your experience or expertise regarding my brother's matter. He is born and brought up in Bahrain. He has been working in a reputed company in Bahrain, But unfortunately he made an car accident which resulted in one year imprisonment... Now the company is trying to cancel his visa. My question is since he is inside prison will they be able to that? If yes, will be his legal status? On the other hand If I transfer his visa will I be able to do that? since he is inside prison will he get the security clearance at the immigration for the visa to be transferred? and lastly upon the completion of the prison term will he get the grace period to transfer the visa?

Perhaps you could check to see if he can change to a flexi-visa holder status so that his stay is legal. Quite likely that he could get deported uon release if his residency papers are not valid

Thank you for your reply. He is not eligible to apply a flexi visa as his RP is not cancelled.

Depends on the how the accident was classified.聽 If criminal, forget about it.聽 He will be deported at the end of his sentence.聽聽And yes, the company can cacncel it any time.聽 You can try to transfer and see.

Many thanks for you swift response. Just wanted to clarify that he has no deportation or fine from the final judgement. He just got 1 year sentence as verdict. and he is clear from LMRA. He has no offence of any kind. As of today he has valid working visa till 2026.

If the judgement didn't have a deportation order then you can try with the visa.聽 Don't let him overstay as then it will become even more difficult.
