uhm ... bank transfer in Vietnam start to be complicated

Post new topic

Frede001

Seems like they have introduced some new banking rules :-(

Online Vietnamese VIB account transfer to foreign VIB rejected (Foreign with TRC), need to go to VIB counter for transfer with documentation according to VIB

Online Foreign VIB account transfer to foreign VIB rejected ( both foreigner with TRC)

Online Foreign VIB account transfer to VN VIB still works (foreign with TRC)

At least HSBC still seems to be okay

Foreign HSBC account transfer to foreign VIB still works ( both foreigner with TRC)

Unfortunately, you're right.

If you can't provide satisfactory documentation as to the legal source of funds, transfers out of Vietnam are simply not happening.

You can maybe blame the USA Internal Revenue Service for putting pressure on Vietnam to adopt stricter anti-laundering regulations, in order for VN to be approved for increased access to the US banking system.

In the long run, isn't this a good thing>

I pretty much agree.

My point being that Vietnam does not seem to be complicating its banking system of its own volition.

So it's not as if they are choosing to treat us poorly.

I'm getting ready to post about my eventual successes today after fighting the local banking system for almost 2 years (since getting my TRC).

It's a bit off topic for this thread so I'll probably create a new topic soon.

Even though I've finally succeeded where I was failing for a long time--having full domestic banking services with a NAPAS ATM card plus a Visa debit card--I would still have the same problem sending money outside of Vietnam.
