Quiet and comfortable hotel(s) in Mombassa or Nairobi

jimstug

I wish to visit Kenya. I am thinking Mombassa first as I like the sea and resort lifestyle. I'm retired and a light sleeper. I want to find accommodations that don't hav a lot of slamming heavy doors, loud music and loud guests. Ideally a hotel where not a lot of families stay. Perhaps a more "exclusive" hotel that is not super expensive but not cheap either. Do hotels like this exist in Mombassa? I saw a hotel called "English Place" on line. Anybody have experience staying in hotels there who could give some feedback or recommend?

Basically I am looking for a good hotel for light sleeper that is quiet so I can sleep well and be rested for vacation.

thank you

Hi Jim,

over the last 10 years I've been travelling and living in Kenya.  The first 4 year in an apartment in Nairobi. Then during the last 6 years travelling for 10 - 15 days at a time.   I use Air B&B around Kenya and not been disappointed.  Always booking a self contained property in gated grounds with security.    Paying between $45 -$70 a night.  this can be cheaper for longer bookings.  Some also provide breakfast and other meals.

If you need further details let me know.
