Using a relocation agent to move to UY

Post new topic

We are in the process of moving permanently to UY from the US. Our realtor advised us to work with a relocation agent to get through all the red tape like visas. Which comes with a significant price, close to $5,000 per person. Who has experience with an agent and can share it here?

Leamcon

That is a ridiculous price.

I am currently in the process of obtaining permanent residency. After a lot of research I'm using Aldo Netto, a young dynamic Mr. fix it.

When i arrived in Uruguay three years ago, I was at a language school in Montevideo and kept hearing about an English immigration lawyer. One American said he charged about US$1,000 but when I spoke to him, it was $2,000 +IVA + disbursements so about $3,500. apart from being expensive, I didn't like the cut of his jib so I did it myself with the help of the notary through whom I bought my house and a licensed translator.

We're looking to move to uruguay and am curious how difficult it is to do and where we need to go after passport.  Also about how long is this going to take?  Any info will be greatly appreciated
