Applying for the Marriage Visitor Visa

Post new topic

Kelly Felipe

Hello, my name is Mariela and I have a question about the Marriage Visitor Visa.

Regarding “the earliest you can apply is 3 months before you travel”, does that mean you can apply from 3 months before you intend travel to the UK? For example, applying 1 month before you travel is permitted as it within 3 months of you traveling and not any earlier. Or, is it suggesting that you must apply more than 3 months before you travel, for example, applying 4 months before you travel is permitted as it is more than 3 months before you travel. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Kind regards, Mariela

Hi and welcome to the Forum.

I can't find an earliest or latest date you can apply because the process is carried out by a 3rd party, and you have to provide biometric information to them.  You must get married within 6 months after your date of arrival in the UK; you can read the full details on the UK Gov website; this will take you straight to it.

I hope this helps.

Good day All.

Hi Mariela.

As Cynic has pointed out - there's no earliest or latest date  for your application re Marriage Visitor Visa.

Am sure you have found the correct info via the link Cynic provided.

Main/important one for you to read is :  Apply from outside the UK.

Best wishes

Hi Mariela! You can apply for the Marriage Visitor Visa anytime within 3 months before your intended travel date but not earlier. For example, applying 1 month before travel is fine, but 4 months isn't permitted.
