Help registration for my Kid for primary

Post new topic

Hello Everyone,

My son is 19 months old and Next year (September), he will be 2.5 Years old. I am looking for information from parents who have gone through School hunting for their kids/kids for nursery (maternelle/M0) in the area of Schaerbeek/Evere/WSL. We live in Schaerbeek. I have some trivial questions and I would be very thankful if you guys could post something helpful.

When should I start registering for school (trying to contact the school for pre-registration), contacting them for enrollment or showing interest/visit?

What should be the best approach to find the right school for the kid. For context, We are English-speaking expats in Brussels who are both learning Dutch for the moment (A1) and therefore, are confused about whether French-speaking schools will be a good choice given that they are abundant in Brussels compared to Dutch-speaking schools?

I am told there is a singular website where you have to mention the school that you as a parent prioritise? Where would that be for French and Dutch speaking region for Brussels?

Any recommendations on Schools in Schaerbeek/Evere/WSL that I can look up and with whom you have personal experience and they are generally a good fit, especially for kids with international parents?

Is anybody here in the same situation (looking for first registration for their first kid)? I would like to connect so that we have be helpful to each other and exchange information as we go.

I see that some schools have already opened up pre-registration for kids (for the year 2025-26) starting from 1st Nov. Am I too late to show interest as I never thought it would be that quick?

7. If somebody has already a guide or a post or forum where this information will be easily available, please link into the comments

I look forward to the responses/guidance/direction from all the parents

Regards
