Previous company submitted online EP cancellation

Hi people,

I am Tharun, working in Malaysia with Employment Pass and recently changed to other company. And the new company ready to provide new EP, now my previous company submitted the EP cancellation online through MDEC website, but they demanded me 5000 RM (which is illegal) to give NOC and to submit cancellation online.

I managed to give 1000 RM due my emergency situation

now previous company submitted the cancellation online through MDEC website, now they are chasing me threatening me if you won鈥檛 pay remaining amount we will not approve cancellation. This way they are messaging me.

my concern is : previous company has authority to reject EP cancellation submitted to MDEC?

2: should I need to give money to get approval of cancellation visa?

3: Will immigration or MDEC聽 asks previous company to confirm on cancellation?
