Expired Iqama Penalties

Post new topic

Arieswalangkupas

I have a previous employer that he doesn't updating my iqama ID until it became 12 months. He always said that he will pay for the renewal until it become 12 months. My Question is, it is possible that i can force my previous employer to pay the penalties from my expired iqama? Which Government institution i will go to report my issue?

I understand your situation, and I'll guide you through the process.

In Saudi Arabia, the responsibility for renewing an Iqama (residence permit) lies with the employer. If your previous employer failed to renew your Iqama, resulting in expiration and penalties, you can take the following steps:

1. *Grievance submission*: File a complaint with the *General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat)*. They will guide you on the process and provide a complaint form.

2. *Labor Office*: Visit the *Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD)* Labor Office. They will help you resolve the issue and may impose penalties on your previous employer.

3. *Submit required documents*: Provide the following documents to support your case:

    - Copy of your expired Iqama

    - Proof of employment with your previous employer (contract, salary slips, etc.)

    - Proof of non-renewal of Iqama by your previous employer

4. *Penalty payment*: If the authorities rule in your favor, your previous employer will be required to pay the penalties for the expired Iqama.

To report your issue, you can visit the following government institutions:

1. General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat): (link unavailable)

2. Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) Labor Office: (link unavailable)

Remember to keep a record of all correspondence and interactions with the authorities.
