Perhaps as a follow on question: has anyone reading this thread actually received an unsolicited renewal appointment notification?

I haven't, and mine expired four months ago.

I would also be keen to find out if anybody has been contacted, not least to understand how they contact you. My fear is that if this by post, they may still have an old address for me, as nobody at SEF / AIMA has ever been available to update that address (though I did send an email into the void).
