Bringing puppy from PR to US

Hey friends,

I rescued a puppy in Aguadilla and want to take her back to PA. I am flying out of BQN (Aguadilla airport) and wondering how strict they are with puppies. A few questions that come to mind are:

  1. New guidelines state dogs have to be at least 6 months of age but I am wondering if there's a loophole or if people even check papers at BQN.
  2. Has anyone else attempted to do this with the new regulations in place? If so, how did it go and what did you do to successfully bring your puppy into us?

Just put the puppy in a dog carrier if he/she fits and take them on the plane with you. You can get an extra ticket if you need to so that you can have them on the seat next to you. That’s what I did with my cat. Obviously, I don’t know what her/his size. They don’t check the age.
