Just applied for my CR as a pensioner

Howdy All,

I just recently got my D-Visa without any problems. We returned to BG Feb 1, and I ran over to the immigration office in Burgas to apply for my Continued Residence. They would not accept my notary deed, and am requesting us to get an address classifier doc from our local municipality? I guess our addy is not valid in their system? Has anyone run across this before? Once we finally found the admin office in Pomorie, they tell us it will take 1 month for this to be done. We are in a bit of a time crunch due to the wife's CZ residency expiration, and waiting for 1 month just for this will force us to get her D-Visa in the US (unless we renew her CZ card, which we would really prefer not to do).Any opinions?

I've not heard of such an issue, but I suppose many things are possible with bureaucrats. Was it the original Notary Act or a copy? Is it a regular deed in your personal name or a company? For faster processing, you could try again with an attorney, they usually know what to do. Or, alternatively, do a quick rental contract and apply based on that (i.e. rental contract + landlord declaration). You can PM me if you want an experienced immigration guy (he'd apply in a different office and use the rental contract option). An attorney will cost you a few euros, but that's cheaper than flying back to the US.

I spoke with the embassy in CZ as we are on great terms :-). They informed me exactly what I need to do, and we already did it earlier today. Since our complex was/is considered vacation/second home residences, I had to get the address classification from Pomorie. We submitted it this morning, let them know we were leaving BG in a couple weeks, and hopefully we'll gt it before too long. As far as my benny letter, I need to get it apostilled. I contacted SS about it so hopefully that won't take too long as well. It may cost us a bit, but worth it if we can get all squeezed in b4 her time runs out.
