Interesting Advance Warning?

I hope to save some money soon....even though some of the stuff is actually pretty good value (or so SWMBO tells me 😎)

This is regulation in the right direction for once. I've seen replica guns that fire blanks advertised from China to EU and UK, not to mention all the kids toys on temu that fall apart and don't have choke warning disclaimers. Good shout Jim thanks for sharing.

This is Bulgaria 😁 You can walk into any gun shop and buy a blank-firing gun that also fires tear gas/CS gas/pepper spray, flares and pyrotechnics - all of which will do you a power of no good if you cop it in the face.  But why waste your time in the Kids' Toy section when you can also buy over the counter airguns that can easily bring down buffalos and other big game? 🤠

That's a very profound thought - you're not a Sufist, by any chance? 😎

Are there a lot of gun clubs around? Hubby belonged to one in France and it was great fun.

@jeanmandredeix

There are a few, especially in Sofia.  Getting a licence for a firearm isn't at all easy, especially for a foreigner - and getting a hunting licence is likewise tough (exams in Bulgaria, for example).  Truth to tell, there isn't really much to hunt here and rather too many slap-happy gung-ho "hunters" who have no business being anywhere near a gun (or a bottle of rakiya 😐) As in France, every year brings its crop of dead and injured hunters, despite wearing hi-viz vests etc.

Bow-hunting is illegal here, as is hunting with airguns, despite the availability of the latter in calibres and energy levels that will take down literally ANY big game.  Let me add that I wholeheartedly despise anyone who kills other creatures for "sport" - or to make up for their lack in trouser-contents...

Thanks. He didn’t hunt. He used to be a marksman in the army so just enjoyed the club matches and the annual party shoot when the gendarmes had to be absent as the illegal guns came out 😂 We liked the social side too.

Temu is very much a mixed bag. Like anything else, people need to use common sense. I've bought things there and been happy with the quality and the price. But I wouldn't even think about buying things like sunscreen, essential oils, kid's toys, electrical goods, or safety equipment there.

For example, I was looking at an airfryer there that appeared very nice. But Amazon UK has several reviews and images of the melted airfryer, and it's been withdrawn from sale.

Interestingly the labelling on some Chinese alleged essential oil products I've bought on Amazon UK (not for personal use, for ant repellent!) is more honest on Temu in some cases than for the exact same brand and item on Amazon UK. Though it is in very small print on Temu, hidden away!

Didn't know they sold pepper spray and the likes in BG, if only UK did lol. Could end a lot of knife crime woth a good blast of pepper 🤪

I'm with you on the sport hunting, been vegetarian since the age of 14. I was in bsa with my 2.2 a few years back, mad you mention the gun clubs for target shooting. In hotel in Jambol met a hotel concierge who's a member, he says it's good fun and quite low priced.
