How do rent and deposits work for rental properties?

Hello,

In the US we usually have to pay a deposit and first month rent- or - first month rent, last month rent and some sort of security deposit as well... we also may have credit score checked, employment, references etc.

Do you know what I can expect to need to save for getting into a long-term rental unit in Mallorca?

And do I need anything else (besides maybe showing bank account) to be eligible for a rental if coming from the US?
