Need blood work in HCMC

Dannyroc3

So I need to get a full blood work test done and I am wondering what would be the best place to go to get that done? In many places they have small testing labs which are affordable and easy to get in and out.

Maybe I will go to HCMC to do it, can anyone give me a place I might look into?

I just had a C.B.C. (complete blood count) analysis done 3 days ago at an International S.O.S. clinic here in Phu Quoc. My GF was scheduled to be there that day for the third of her five rabies vaccine appointments/injections, so I figured I'd have my blood work done while there. I fasted from the night before in preparation.

Though I posted in another thread that the cost for a C.B.C. was 100K, turns out the 100K covers only the drawing of the blood, not the analyses (which was an additional 250K).

350K total, and results available in ~20 minutes.

S.O.S. has offices nationwide.

I've stopped referring the cheapest places for high quality work.

In general, you get what you pay for in Việt Nam.

VINMEC is my recommendation

Just be aware that some things do not show just by testing the blood. I for example donate blood on a regular basis and as a male here in Sweden I can do it every 3 months. However after all my tattoo appointments I've had 6 months of quarentine just to make sure that if there is anything harmful it will be shown. So, some time calculations need to be done.

Thanks for that. I see it is in a convenient area for me.

Am I mistaken to assume I could do a walk-in visit there?

Usually you can in most hospitals in Vietnam, but VINMEC has a great app that will allow you to find out for sure:

FYI, Healthcare policies in Vietnam are not that much different than in the USA, in that many places will want a doctor's order before you can simply walk in and have labs drawn.

So very often the procedure will be that you will be checked into that hospital's system and pay in advance for your first work up with an available doctor.

They will make it pretty simple with a basic history and physical and write out the necessary order.

Then you will go and pay in advance for that service, after which you will take your receipt and the order to the lab to have tests done.

Usually you will then go back to the waiting area for the doctor who ordered the labs and wait for them to call you to give you the results.

Good luck ðŸ™

Thanks for that additional info. I assumed a blood draw and test was just a standard affair with no doctor needed, so I will verify what's required rather than show up.
