From Rawalpindi to Ramen, Soon Savoring Fika! – A Life Well Traveled!

nadeemjp96

Born and raised in Pakistan, I packed my bags at 24 and landed in Japan to study—because why not take the scenic route in life? Lost my parents during university, which left me with no real reason to return, so I did what any sensible person would do—stayed put and built a life from scratch.

Now, after years of hustling, I’ve entered the "Final Boss Level" of my career—the last five years before retirement. Think of it as the corporate version of a countdown timer, except instead of a game-over screen, it ends with me sipping coffee somewhere scenic.

I like to think of myself as open-minded yet firmly grounded in my faith—sort of like a WiFi signal, always connected but with strong security settings.

And speaking of post-retirement plans, once the kids are launched into the real world (good luck to them!), I plan to spend at least two months in Sweden. Why Sweden? Because in the grand buffet of life, Sweden is that exotic dish I’ve always wanted to try. The landscapes, the culture, the efficiency, the people, and let’s be real—the idea of endless fika and cinnamon buns is enough motivation.

So that’s the plan: Work, wrap up, and then off to Sweden to see if Vikings and I have anything in common (besides a beard and a love for adventure).

Life’s short—might as well make it interesting!
