We appreciate your help please. British family. Two adults and seven childrens ages 18 to 7 consider relocating to Perth as a result of a job offer. Joint earning around 200000 Aus dollars. Do we need to pay for state schooling in Perth.

Hi Amanda

I don't have any children so can't promise I'm right here, but I believe state schooling is free.

As a fellow Brit who has moved down under though, I can tell you that the economy here is is much better nick than in the UK. The good side of this is that jobs are relatively plentiful and there is a high standard of living. The less wonderful side is that the cost of living is not low. I have especially noticed that a trip to the supermarket costs about twice what it does in the UK. Most other things are comparable with or slightly less than UK prices, to give you an idea.
