I'm Leonard from Philippines i'm planning to move in Oslo this march 2012 i want to know the cost of living in Oslo with my 28,000 kr salary and i want to know also how much the rent of studio or one bedroom apartment?

Harmonie

Hi Leonard and welcome to ½ûÂþÌìÌÃ!

Do not hesitate to browse through the forum, it may help.;)

Will you be coming over single? or with family? Because it might be a bit tough with 28,000kr (I assume that's before tax?) because everything is expensive. After tax (28%+7.8%for health), you will only have 18k left. (A studio, unless it's further away from the city center, will eat up a lot of you $$)

I just arrived in Oslo for a while so I might have many knowledge on "deals" around but below are some website I have used when I was doing my survey before coming to Oslo.

Living cost estimation (I find it quite acurate)

(Cheapest Macdonald is 1 cheese burger equivalent costing around 20kr -- provided you take away -- eating inside will cost you a few kroners more)

To look for accomodation: (Use google translate)

(You can also find some furniture and 2nd hand things there if required)

Combine with Transportation guide:

All accomodations found under finn.no will have address, you can enter your work address, and the accomodation address in trafikanten and waola! the site will show you how to walk from your work place to the nearest bus/metro station, how long it takes to the place and how long to walk from there.
This 2 sites are my golden compass in Oslo.
