Schools and Rent in Paris

southr

I am considering a move to paris with my family. We have 2 kids one aged 4yrs and the second is 4 months. I would love any information about the schooling and where to get the best value for money with regard to renting a flat / house.  I would ideally like to move to an area where there is an expat community as my wife does not speak much french (yet) - this would make the move a little easier.
We'd love to hear of your experiences, thoughts on where to rent, costs, getting a 4 yr old into a local school..the good, the bad and the ugly.

Hi.  You could try googling the areas around St Germain en Laye, western suburb of Paris.  There is a big expat community.  For school, the Lycee International for a bilingual education, is popular amongst expats here. Not exactly a cheap area but nice and green with good transport links to Paris.

i have just accepted a post at the british school of paris, which from a teachers point of view was very nice.

i can recommend nothing more than taking a ook. they follow the englisg curriculum pretty much and there is a junior school as well.
