Hello Aasta, I moved your message to the Athens forum !

graffic

Papasotiriou has some novels in English.Y ou can order there more titles if they don't have the ones you're looking for.

You can also go to the center. There are many libraries near Akademias.

Hello, if you can read in Greek, here are some addresses of Papasotiriou bookstores:

papasotiriou.gr/stores.asp

Eleutheroudakis bookstore has books in English as well:

books.gr/
(the site is under maintenance until Sept.06th,2009)

I hope it helps to make a start!!

I think you're better of ordering any english books you want from Amazon UK, they are much cheaper, better variety & shipping is fast and cheap.

In Greece English books are expensive, variety is not so good and if you want to order from a Bookstore it will take quite a bit of time (3 weeks and over!!I've been told once 1 month to 3 mths!)

I havent bought any english book here for under 10euros, and Im talking about simple 300page novels.
To order online from Amazon you needa credit card, however its very safe, fast service, great prices.

I love to read also and I prefer to read in English.  I live on the mainland about 2 hours from Athens and finding English books here is impossible.  I stock up on books when I go to Kefalonia.  There is an English bookstore there in Argostoli that offers second hand books at a reasonable price and of course swapping is available everywhere on the island at hotels and cafeterias.  You can download audible books from audiblebooks.com if like that sort of thing.  My best advice is to stock up when you can, and find friends who read so you can pass books around.  Some one told me about another book place online, cheapbooks or something like that.  Good luck.

I still think everyone looking for English Books should try Amazon UK(make sure its the UK site you use so u dont par duty /VAT) and  (which has Free Shipping YES Free Shipping worldwide)except for the thousands of books available to chose from you also get great prices, english books in Greece are very expensive and u will not get much variety. Both sites are 100% safe I have ordered tons of books many times.Shipping is fast and service is great from both sites;)

Hi, i read a lot of English language books and i agree with koukla. Try internet.
Though, i do not agree being expensive(it's exactly the same with other countries i visited)m the variety is quite limited.

I usally buy from elefteroudakhs bookstore at the center of Athens.

KOUKLA75

Expensive are the english books, especially ΕλευθεÏουδάκης- always compared to UK wher I buy all my books

akarthis

Cant't argue, comparing to UK. But in other countries it's up and down the same.
ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΟΥΔΑΚΗΣ is kinda more expensive, though it's ok with me because it has the widest range in the genre i prefer.
In any case i vote for Amazon too

True, I'm comparing to US and Canada as well, books in Greece are overpriced especially "foreign" ones, Bookdepository Uk is also a very good site (Free world wide shipping)

Goodmorning,
Thanks for the site. I will check it out soon
