How's life in Libya now?

Post new topic

Ayshah

Hi all!

I am writing an article to an European magazine about Libya after war. I would be really happy if someone could write me shortly in English how's life in Libya now after Gaddafi's gone. What is better or what is worse and what you hope for the future.

Thank you!

Hi everyone,

I'm also writing a paper about Libya and other countries of the Arab Spring (focus on the people who left the country to go somewhere else).

So if someone have any information for me about it, it will be really helpful! :)

Thankss

Why would you write about people who left instead of people who stayed?

During war, people who have the means and the money, leave the war zone and take their families with them. That's all there is to it. The ones that stay behind are the brave ones (and usually the ones too poor) to leave.

Douglas : I'm writing a paper about people who left because I'm looking for people who came here in Belgium. (I have to meet them, to have a "field" - I don't know if it's the right word).. That's why :)

Masterr : Thank you very much for the links :)

it is strange... writing about Libya but asking help from someone else to write for you?
why dont you come here and do it your self with your own observation.

Yes, you want to interview them. Good luck to you.

You may want to hit and dig up some articles written about Libya in the 50s and 60s by foreigners, an outsiders view obviously, but a little more objective than the virtual blackout on the country which Qaddafi put in place when he took control. In particular, look up the ethnic make up and the groups which made up Libyan society back then. It will give you insight into what's happening now and maybe where its heading.Ìý

Q sort of re-wrote history a little bit to suit his own goals. Hopefully in a couple of years some brave souls will gather the courage to write about what really happened in the last 40 years.

Libya is over for the Gaddafi mafia and those that benefitted from it. Sour grapes?
