Hello to you all, Just a short introduction.

I came across this site when searching for 'feeling alone in a foreign country' and found a forum link.

I am currently in Ansbach Germany, and on this rainy Saturday night, I am sat alone in my Wohnung, my (German) flatmate has gone to visit his father for a birthday party - to which I was invited but have the 'freshers flu'. Spent a few days with other language assistants and appear to have caught a cold.

I am working in Ansbach as an English language assistant, something language students do as part of their 'year abroad'.
I have finished my undergraduate degree but want to improve my German.

I have studied German for about 15 years, but don't feel that I am anywhere near fluent. I can just about get by in German, but dont feel all that confident.

So hopefully over the next 6 months or so I will get to meet people I can practice my German with.

Ansbach is the capital of Middle Franconia, one of the regions within Bayern, west of Nuerberg.

Whereabouts are you based? Do you speak any other languages?
