Regarding what u said above, it would be great if u move the time to 9pm, because we knew that Kemang area always crowded on friday.
i'll try to join.
Thank
Mei
Hi all
sounds good,
will try to join.
is there a register form?
cheers
Sounds great
But I couldn't attend
1st day *I guess* in Ramadhan (fasting)
Have fun you guys
Ah make sure first to Murphy's if they are still opened the bar or not, usually they close 2 days
And make sure if they selling the alcohol beverages or just change the glass (beer glass exchange to mug)
Ok I am still working, so i can't reply now to every one...
I don't know about Ramadan rules here, so do you think it will be close on 20th ???
Maybe we can modify the date ?
William
Usually regular bar will be close 2 days (1 day before & 1st day), include bar inside the hotel
Maybe you can call them 5 days before 20 July
For make sure
What I know is only bar inside the hotel still open and selling the beverages without sneaky
Regular bar usually exchange to "normal" glass like a mug
Hi every body
Please stop sending private mail, especially if you just want to know if you can come!! Come who want to come !
I have received more than 30 emails, mainly indonesian people.
So please reply directly on the forum.
For the location and the date, up to you, I suggest MURPHY on the 20 of july, but I can replace it by 28th of july ?
What do you think about this ?
ps : I'm married for people who asked for that.
thanks
willou
Hi Wiliam,
that's great idea.
Unfortunatelly, i am in Taiwan for one month and won't be able to join the party.
See you soon.
Jeremie
i'd love to join n making friends with foreigners but I can't visit pub or something like that, since that day will be fasting month, restaurant is ok but it's up to you guys.
Nice to see you all..
See you
If the places in Kemang would be closed for Ramadhan, maybe we could try somewhere in Tribeca, Central Park? Is that pretty central for everyone?

Thanks for the suggestion William. I live in Kemang and relatively close to Murphy's but unfortunately will be traveling on those dates as most expats will be. There won't be much traffic in Kemang during Ramadan but yes, do check if the bars would be open and up to what time. Many close early. It is a month to enjoy the traffic free streets of Jakarta.
I will wait for the next gathering when I come back in September.
RSVP +2 please, I'll bring my American buddy.

Hello Jeremie,
so ubud for good? haha
are u in taiwan? i was in china last month
20th will be okay... great if you can confirm the venue.. 28th i will out from Indonesia...
Dear all
I think it's better to move the date to Huly the 28th, because you're right, 29th is the first day of the fasting period...
So What do you think about a gathering on july the 28th ???
I most probably will come.. but it would be better to check the venue first..probably they will be closed due to ramadhan..
Just a thought.... Correct me if I am wrong but the Idul Fitri is on the 19-20 Aug 2012; so I guess the fasting will be started on 18 or 19 July 2012?
If it's than 28 July is already within the Ramadhan season and "MAY BE" the operation hours for most bars and clubs will be limited.
If I could suggest, may be the venue can be moved to Chilli @ Sarinah Building on either 13 or 14 July 2012.
Just a thought.
Yes I agree with you kolinas, but I will be in Bangkok on 13-14 july...
I will call MURPHY on the next weekks, probably 23 of july, to know if they are open or closed for the 28th.
Do you know how I can modify the title of my subject ???
Is Indonesian considered as an expat for you, Will? :p
Hi
Usually, indonesian people are not considered like expatriate in indonesia... But it's okay !
I just initialize a gathering to meet some people, indonesian or expatriate, so it's okay.
But for the moment I received 29 answers from indonesian people, and 6 from outside, especially philippins and singapore.
Where are the others foreigners? Am I the only one french in Jakarta ? There is no european or american people here ?
See you
william
Will, I am not sure how to change the subject of this thread.
As the initiator of this thread, logically you should be able to change the subject.
If not, my silly recommendation would be to contact the administrator of this web.
Another silly proposal, how about going for lunch and continue with bowling on 15 July 2012 @ EX? This way everyone could in their casual mood, exchange stories and make friendship
Comments?
sounds nice to have gathering!
I'm English, but have no idea where the location of your meeting is, I've only just moved to south Jakarta.
@ Hannah: It's probably around the corner where you live. Murphy is @ South Jakarta  Nice to virtually meet you.
