Hi,
I have about 15 years experience in the Banking and IT industries in India. I am looking at an opportunity in an IT company in Jeddah as a Business Analyst. Can anyone suggest what kind of salary should I expect for my experience?
Thanks in advance
Thank you Ghanshyam for your reply. Are you sure it will be 3-4 times my salary in India? If I am getting around INR 15 lakhs per annum in India, is the market rate around INR 45-60 lakhs?

Look at this way, I would not come to a desert land so far from my country all alone for anything less than 3-4 times of my indian salary.
With that kind of experience, you should get paid well.
Btw, your math is correct.
Don't forget to ask for all other benefits as well (Car, House in a Compound, Flight Tickets back to your home town twice a year, Health Coverage, etc)
Sure Ghanshyam - I will negotiate. Flight tickets (once in a year), medical insurance for self and family, housing allowance and school fees are definitely in list of things. I will add car and house in compound to that list. BTW, where do you work - I see that you stay in Dammam. Are you from Maharashtra?

My charges are 10% of the benefit you make from my suggestion. You can choose to pay directly to my Indian bank account or my Bank account in Saudi Arabia
I work for an Ice Cream company that has 31 flavors always.
I'm from India (lived all my life in Chennai). And I don't bite Maharashtrians, yet
Jai Hind
No wonder you are a chartered accountant (I saw your profile)
I don't mind paying your consultancy charges in kind, when we meet for coffee or snacks somewhere in Saudi (if/when I land there).
Anyways, thanks for your quick answers.
I will post if/when I make some progress on the offer.

Actually, I still can't believe I cleared my exams two years back. Politicians / Mafias / Goondas make more money than us.
I'm on a diet, so I'll take both Coffee (Hot & Cold) & the Snacks
Inshallah, we will meet or else there's excellent courier service in this country.

Off the 31 Flavours you have there is 1 butter scotch and why does it taste salty here ??

Thank you for your valuable feedback. Our Technical team will respond to you within 48 to 72 hours.
Do visit our parlors again for more ice creams, sundaes, ice cream cakes, shakes and many more.
Actually, I've heard this before. My Training Manager mentioned it. Thanks for reminding it Saimans, will check and get back to you shortly.
Will also try the flavor tomorrow itself.
@ indian142521 - BTW, I believe what Dave said is right 3-4 time what you get in India. Just a smiple math on 15lakhs in india, 33% Taxes - around 5 lakhs gone straight away, So net take home around 10Lacs and yes you are better off here from 30-40L/annum
Good Luck !!

Actually I thought My taste buds have died here !!

Will find that out too, when I taste that flavor.
Oh I miss the food back in India (Pani Poori, Bhel Poori & Sandwich).

I've got to try it once. Hope it's spicy enough !
Okay - about the salary figure confirmation from Saimans. Let us see what they offer, if at all they offer.
Okay ............ thanks James. In fact, I had also arrived at a similar figure. Let us c. I also hear (from others in the blog) that the salary offered does not depend just on experience, skills, etc., but colour of the passport and colour of the skin. So, let us c how it goes - fingers crossed.
Hi guys .............. I received a tentative offer today - 20K SAR per month, all inclusive. It is an Indian company, having a project in KSA. What do you make of it? Enough/Not enough? Worth/Not Worth?
What about all the benefits (Car, House in a Compound, etc.) ?
Negotiate for 25 K per month. Else it's not the best offer I would say.
You don't want to land here and realize that with a little patience and better negotiation with same / different company, you could have got 25-30 K.
However, consider the other facts as well like your position in the Company, your job title, your responsibilities, growth opportunities, period of contract, etc.
20K is all inclusive. No other benefits
I am negotiating.
Contract is for 1 year. Can I come there once and then look for better opportunities?

I think if you stick hard, you will get it. Most companies don't want to pay more because, people agree to whatever is being offered.
Coming here and finding another job is not as easy as it looks. Your employer has to let you go. If they are aware of your intentions, they can do enough to not let you come back to the country for another 6 months.

17 dollars a day
I don't mind if they don't give car, compound, etc. I think it is a fair offer, if they give 25K, what do you say?
I think what they have given now is a moderate offer, not very low, not very high.

Yep, it's an ok-ok offer. You can take and benefit for sure. It's up to you now.
Congrats

Hi,
I have got an offer with the corporate strategy team of Abdul Lateef Jameel (ALJ - the toyota distributor in KSA & GCC) group at Jeddah. I am an engineer + MBA from one of the best b-school in India.
My queries:
1. How is ALJ group as a company and employer? Being a private company nothing much info is available on its size etc. and during interview they just mentioned we are billions of dollars large.
2. Want to know what are current salary structure for expats in KSA and in this particular line of profession. Most of online discussions I have come across involve teaching, nursing or oil & gas sector related profession. A preliminary offer of roughly 180,000-200,000 Saudi riyal pa has been made to me. I am yet to get details about the housing + car + medical benefits status.
Could people with know-how throw some light on these aspects?
Thanks in advance

Ugh. Its a full moon. All the tards come out
It's kind of ironic, actually. Usually we beat people up for being too general. Now this guy comes along and he's WAY too specific!!
neutral, I would suggest you go to linkedin and do a search for ALJ and people working there. Contact them and you'll be getting info straight from the horse's mouth!
Best of luck

Honestly though
how do you have an MBA, and cant do some research
