Here are some resource from my e-book, Nepal: On a budget.

merojob.com jagire.com The UN also hires expats, so give them a try as well as your embassy.

It is actually difficult except for certain professions. You can try the big, private schools like Lincoln.

I have some information on my web site that will help you know what to bring and a lot more: NepalOnaBudget.com

Sorry Dikson, but what you were told is just not possible.

A Work Permit is directly related to the type of Visa you have in your passport. If you have a residential visa, you will need and are allowed to work IF you have a Work Permit.

And the only type of visa a foreigner can get at a Nepalese Embassy / Consulate is a Tourist Visa, for a maximum duration of 90 days. Within this time, inside Nepal, at the Department of Immigration of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and if you qualify for a residential visa, you can have your Tourist Visa transformed into a residential visa. Then you can try to apply for your Work Permit.

Oh, and on a Tourist Visa it clearly states that you are NOT allowed to do ANY kind of work.
