Al Marfa  and Al Mirfa are very close together. Is it one is different then other?  It take s bout over hour.
I can't find Zayed city on the map.

Also found Sir Banni Yas Island.  It seems only resort not the town people can rent place. Do you know anything about this Island.
Only take 15 min. to get there if I don't miss the ferry.

Ash Shibhanah is west of Ruwais, takes about hour and half.
Anything info you might have?

Hello everyone,
I'm starting to thinking that my best options are Al Mirfa, Al Marfa, Al Mughayra, Ghayathi, Khor Al Bazim, and Sir Bani Yas Island. Do you know other than these cities?
These are the only city close to Ruwais? (looking for less than hour driving range)

Anyone has any opinion on these cities?

Like ; Living condition, safty, Markets etc.

Anyway.  To give an answer to the original poster:

1.  There are no cities up in that part of the country.  A few small communities thats all.  Like Ghiyathi which is on the way out of UAE to Saudi.

2.  Ruwais was built by ADNOC to house its employees.

3.  Its over 3 hours drive away (unless you have a bugatti).

4.  It's the most soul sucking, mind numbing drive on earth.

This is my story,
My husband is oil field consultant and sometimes we have to move to some different countries.  My job is to find everything before going over to other countries because of my dog. I have my boy totally defend on me.  Any other countries was very easy but I trying to prepare for UAE.  We respect there cultures and believes.  I do not wish to have any issues and effecting any other way to UAE company and my husband.

The company will give a housing but maybe pets not allowed.  I do not want to ask company that I wish to have a pet friendly housing.    Even if I have to pay for it I would like to find something that my own.

Search on the internet but no luck.  Only I can find somthing that big city or popular places.    Thanks for the expat(like you and others), I got some of information about the location of the different towns.  It seems without town names very difficult to search location and hotels or housing.  All hotels are not allowed pet.    Classified ad tell you where is but like 3hours way from the Ruwais.  If I can find close town that small or not than I could search for that town.  I can see on the map unless what you are looking for.  For example, "Ghyathi", "Sir Bani yes Island", "Zayed cith", "Awafi", Dn'sah"- ?? are most close to Ruwis.
According to suggestions and info.  But there is no info I can find on the internet.  Maybe those towns are too small have detail info on the internet but I really don't care because more fun to living with residence in town.    That's how I learn few languages. 

So his work is Ruwais and I need to find something close to work with allows a pet.   
Anyway, sorry for the long story.
It was log week, I been on the computer for all day, every day waiting for someone to reply. Thinking that maybe we got some good news.

You may find small towns close by but it's unlikely that there will be anywhere that's for rent. They tend to be inhabited by locals and the areas very underdeveloped consisting of mainly farms.

The company accommodation is probably in the ruwais community. Mainly villas and a school and a couple of supermarkets. I don't see why the company would not allow you to bring your dog as the accommodation is essentially yours. I would ask them.
