Wouldn't be just one item for me either.

I'd take the two most valuable things I'll ever have - my young wife and our five year old son. If the limit of one was unbreakable then I'd give it to my wife and order her to take our son. I'd stay behind in the burning building because without one or the other of them life is just not worth living, they mean that much to me.

The stairway in my building is always full of boxes, bicycles, shoes and clothes.聽 Everyone takes the elevator so no one seems to care that our only fire exit is blocked.聽 If my building burns down while I'm in it, I'm toast.
