R u going to nostalgia about Canadian life or talk of new, Ecuadorian life, if so, what the matter who is came from?

Hey Claude. I totally understand wanting to connect with another Canadian. I'm from
Ontario and have been in Cuenca a couple of months and in Ecuador since Christmas.  My partner is also a Canadian from Ottawa.

Deemetrio,

I think you confuse peoples interest in wanting to be able to hook up with fellow compatriots, with the idea people don't want to start a new life and fit into the local society.
I am from Minnesota, and would love to talk to others from MN., or from the US. To share experiences, and aid one another in the transition. I think that is pretty much the idea of this whole forum. Sharing.
For some reason, you seem to be a tad harsh on people that want a connection to their roots. This is not the first time you've been a little aggressive in questioning others motives for relocating.
People are going to want to feel connections, it's only human. I'm sure you'd love to converse with someone from your homeland. Or, maybe not. Perhaps you want no connection to your mother country. I do not intend to turn my back on the US, where I'm from, rather I have chosen to start a new chapter.
Stay Well,
Neil

Hey ZenSpike!  It seems that every thread has at least one (if not more) negative bloggers.  I would start my own thread and maybe name it NO NEGATIVE BLOGGERS ALLOWED but I'm afraid no one would show up.  LOL hehehehehe  Anyways have a great day.

I DON'T AGREE WITH YOUR IDEA OF NON NEGETIVE POSTING'S!!!!!

Oops, now I get your point. As I have often said, you are a tad smarter than me! < well, maybe more than a tad >
Stay Well,
Neil

Hello.

It's going a bit off topic.
Could we please come back to the initial topic?

Thank you,

The main reason I would like to talk to Canadian expats is that some of the paperwork is different for us.  Other than that, one of the reasons that I like to travel is to meet new people.  I don't care where you come from. Aurelie is right folks.  Stick to topic so we can get some useful info.

Hi
My name is Nathalie. I am from Ottawa and will be moving in Cuenca in July 2014.  I would like to apply for a 6 months visitor`s visa with the hope that I can change the visa if I get a job there.  Can you brief me on the application process, paperwork etc...

thanks

Hello.  I'm from Vancouver, Canada.   I have decided to move to Cuenca.    I'm very excited.

I have lived in Thailand, Japan, the Philippines and the U.S. for 2 years each and have learned that I definitely like to live in a modern style condo in a very nice neighbourhood , rent a scooter to explore, and be close by a gym (and shopping centre...?)

I definitely don't need or want to live in a western style country but the condo and a "nice" neighbourhood is essential.
The problem is that I don't know which neighbourhood this may be in Cuenca.  I know that I would love to get to know my Ecuadorian neighbours but all day roosters and dogs barking is not doable for me.
I will probably stay in a hotel in El Centro for the 1st 2 weeks while I look around and gauge whether the weather is too cool or rainy for me.
I have posted this question a couple other places on this forum but no answers yet... :(

I may end up near Salinas/Libertad if it affordable for me???  I know it would be great to live on the ocean and the infrastructure is also very good and the weather is perfect.
Any tips would be great so as to give me a head-start before I get there.

Thanks and Happy New Years!

Matt

Hi.  I will be coming down next month to Cuenca from Vancouver , Canada and will be staying for 1 year or 2.
I will bring 3 suitcases with all my basics and diving equipment but I would like to ship a medium-Large box full of things that I prefer not to buy while there.
Does anyone know of a place or mail service that I could use to have my stuff delivered to so that I could pick it up when I arrive.  Ideally I will like to have it arrive a few days (or a week) after I arrive.
This will make my packing so much easier than deliberating over what stuff to stuff into my luggage while worrying about going over the weight limit for luggage.   :(:/

Thanks ............Matt :top:
