Living in Marsa

Post new topic

Hi,

I looking for accommodation in Marsa and have found this. Isn't it too cheap? Is living in Marsa good? Are there any beaches?

Thanks for any comments.

Hi, i just have to warn you that allot of the ads on the real estate firms websites are already rented out.

I found allot of apartments there and i checked with them and they said: "We dont update our website to often thats why some old and already rented out apartments are still online on our website"..

So send the ID (240101035-907)to the real estate guy and ask if its still available.

Sincerely Robin

no beach at Marsa - marsa is an old word meaning port - its a shipping port here on malta - its central and very much an industrial part of the island.....

When we were looking for our apt we found it's best not to look on the websites contact the agents direct and ask whats available. So many of the ones online are left there after them being let, one agent we spoke to had hundreds listed but only had 6 available.

Hi Jitka,

welcome to the forum.

Accomodation is cheap because you will be living with legal/illegal immigrants and no beach within 1 hour of bus ride !

Marsa means port and that is what you can expect ! Why are you looking to rent in Marsa ? We all avoid Marsa !

Cheers

The only problem is humidity, dampness as someone said. I know the problem, having been in Canada, a - 40 degrees is not a problem but a -15 degrees and damp, it can be very inconvenient for the body.
It can be funny, but I felt better when I lived in Canada during rough winter, snow than here in malta although the temp is above zero all around the year. Dampness is horrible summer and winter, in particular at home. As I leave the home, I sweat but there is nothing we can do.

Thank you all very much for your comments. I found this accommodation and liked the price, but that is why I asked because it was suspicious such price. Thank God I now know what the situation in Marsa is. So Sliema, Swieqi will probably be better area even though the price of accommodation will be higher.
