Hi Anita,

First of all, you have to contact the nearest British Embassy and get an appointment. You will have to issue an EEA Permit with them prior to coming to the UK. Issuing the permit doesn't cost any money.
They will give you an appointment, and will let you know what documentation you have to bring with you. Most likely, you will have to show evidence that you are married to an EU citizen, that your marriage is genuine and not arranged, that you have lived and still live together, etc. Make sure you bring everything with you. They generally have a check list on the embassy's website. Also bring pictures, bank statements, anything that can prove that you have shared a life together really, not only in paper.

I'm Argentinean, married to a Dane, and prior to coming to the UK (Scotland was our first destination here), this is exactly the procedure I had to follow. I issued my EEA permit at the British Embassy in Bucharest.

As long as your husband can prove that he comes with a job, or that he has enough means to support you and your children from the get-go, you won't have any problems. I brought his contract and job specifications from his new employer with me to the interview.

I hope the info helped.

Regards,

Liliana.
