Cuenca or Loja?

We are planning to move from Canada to Ecuador in next 4-6 mo. Everyone seems to like Cuenca< what about Loja? Any expats in Loja?
What about prices in Loja compare to Cuenca. Thank you for any help.

I really suggest you come and visit the country first for a few months and visit those cities that interest you. We have canadian friends who stayed in Loja for a month and hated it, moved to Salinas for several months, loved it at first but the 'honeymoon' soon wore off and they went back to Canada.
Please remember that Ecuador, though wonderful for most of us, is a 3rd world country with all those short comings.
