Migrating to Malaysia

Post new topic

Kevin Terry

I am married to a Malaysian citizen and we are living in the UK, we hope to return to Malaysia within 5 years. Looking at the MMSH website it seens that the 10,000RM per month requirement is very high. working in the UK that is a little bit less than my monthly wages before tax. How can I overcome this hurdle? Is it possible to add both our income together as my wife will be claiming the EPF the she earned we she was working in Malaysia?

Will you be applying for the MM2H program? I agree the RM10,000 per month stipulation is a bit risky and very high. The other alternative is to have a fixed deposit of RM150,000 or RM300,000 for a couple. Most people I know have the fixed deposit option.

No need to apply MM2H
Stay in Malaysia & apply for a social visit & if you work anywhere you can apply spouse program based work permit.

Even social visit can be extended just visiting neighbor countries. While doing these you would have ample time to make a decision if staying in Malaysia permanently is good idea or not.
That's what I was did last 17 years. Same scenario like yours.

While you are staying in Malaysia you can go ask yourself to Immigration regarding your requirements then they are willing to help.
Please do not use any agent,if you do you will learn hard way not to use any agent at all(by Loosing your cash).
Since rules regarding immigration change now & then even advice from this Blog might not be answer to your queries.
Spouse program do not change much & more useful.

Good luck
