Trip to Meroe

I am currently living in Port Sudan and really want to see the pyramids at Meroe. I know it is short notice but I would like to fly to Khartoum in the next few days. Problem is all the tourist agencies I have tried to contact don't seem to be responding. Is it alright to just go to Khartoum and wing it? Would anyone else like to go? Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I am leaving Sudan in December and this will be my last chance.Â

I know an agency in Khartoum. But, you will need a government security permit.
This agency can actually arrange it for you ... They will need 2 personal photos + passport copy + valid visa copy

and btw I have been with them on a trip to Meroe .... Paid $40/person for a party of five including transportation in a new model Toyota Land Cruiser, toll tickets, and security permits (for those who needed them) ....
It was quite a pleasant experience, the ride was comfortable, and the road trip was quite safe...... The whole thing was no-hassle, as they just collected money and documents few days ahead and procured everything
