safe working in basra

Hello all!
i am possibly going with a medical group of international volunteers to basra for 2 weeks. we would be working in a hospital to do heart surgeries for children. does anyone know how safe it is to go to basra with an NGO? any info is greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hi,
I am working in Basra for 3 months for an oil company. Although聽 we are commuting in armored vehicle in oilfield, as I know there is no threat. Better to ask this NGO about accomodation, transportation etc.
