Confused--Looking for Home

Hii Friends,

Its great to see the tons of information available in this forum.
And many many thanks to all contrbutors who have come forward to help the new comers.

I am a new comer as well and hoping to be there in KL very soon.

I am bit confused regarding taking a decision as to where should I look for a home. I request your advice.

My office is close to Wisma Time on Jalan Tun Rajak. My understanding is that the area is close to the city centre and hence quite busy.

I would personally prefer to live in a bit open area provided the travel to and from workplace is not very time consuming.

I did some searching over net and want to have a bettr idea regarding the following properties:-

1. Arena Green, Bukit Jalil
2. Metroview, Wangsa Maju.

I need to understand the following:-

a. Time taken for travel to and from office (LRT/Bus). I would not drive to work everyday if possible.
b. Do I need to have a car if I choose any of the above condo. That is for household stuff and weekend travelling. I don't mind having one.
c. Are the areas expat friendly.
d. How secure are the localities? My wife will be alone at home all day.
e. Any suggestion about similar properties.

Please feel free to express your opinion, absolutely any opinion you might be having be it negative or positive. Also please suggest any other alternative.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Kumar.

wangsu maju is close to your office than Bukit Jalil. What you mean by expat friendly? People here are more exposed to multicultural environment. So, no worry, people here don't bother or interested whether you are expat or local, I assume you are Indian, there are many Indian origin people live here for generations. You will be safer than your home country, I can assure you. It's nice city and great people to be with. Your wife will be safe, can assure you. Malaysia is one of the safest city, small or petty crime will always exist in any part of the world. hope this helps.

Hii Raz,

Thanks for your response.

First of all I would like to clarify that by' Expat friendly' I didn't mean the attitude of the local people towards expats. What I actually tried to mean is the facilities available in the above mentioned localities...i.e whether it is easy for an outsider to settle down considering the fact that we will be starting from zero. Hope I have clarified the statement.

One more question...what is your idea about the area called 'Cheras'. Will it be better than Wangsa Maju. I could see loads of rental add for that area.

From your profile I could see you speak bengali...by the way I am  'Bengali'. Where from you are?.

Cheers.

Kumar.
