Hi,

Considering a move to Joburg.聽 Have 2 small children and a 3rd on the way in june 2013.聽 Can you help me validate the following monthly budget (everything in rand)?

Health Insurance:6000
Food:聽聽聽聽聽 5000
School (2kids x 5 days/week):聽聽聽聽聽 4400
Car:聽聽聽聽聽 3000
Gas:聽聽聽聽 1700
Car and House Insurance:聽聽聽聽 3000
Domestic Help:聽聽聽聽 4000
Electric:聽聽聽聽 2000
Telephone:聽聽聽聽 500

Mobile 2:聽聽聽聽 700

I would say that R150 for water is way too low. Count on between R700 and R1000 if you are living in a house. Electricity might also be too low, budget on R2,500.

I'm not sure what you do in your house to pay that amount of money!!! We live in a house and usually pay R1000. I guess you can pay more in winter if you use heaters but R2500... It's way too much. We need other people's opinions!
