Hello!

I would really appreciate your advice guys!I am a student from Sweden and now I am considering the opportunity do an internship in Porto. My question is - is it possible to live in Porto for some 500 Eur per month?! My expenses will include: room rent, internet, mobile phone, local transportation, and food of course. Please, help me with finding the answer to this question.

Cheers,
Katya

Hi!

I think it would be extremely hard to live on 500 euros a month to be honest.  You could do it, plenty of people do at the moment, but you would have to lead a very boring life (think home-work-home type life).  If you are coming over here you will probably want to do some travelling, go out at night, socialize over food or coffee and all of that costs money in addition to your expenses.

Hope that helps!

It won't be easy but you could manage if you live cheaply. You could find a room in a shared apartment for maybe as low as €150 if you're lucky, probably closer to €200.

Hi guys,

Would it be cheaper to live in Santa Marinha, Vila Nova de Gaia?
And is nightlife there OK, or would I need to travel to the city center for everything?

a sugestion:

with a view of the bridge to downtown Oporto. You can walk to there or better with a bicicle. River´s borders are a hot point for nightlife activities.
