Dutch State Exam 2: should I go for it... again??

Post new topic

So... living here for a bit more than 2 years now I have taken Staatexamen 2 twice! Surprisingly I passed the B2 level 'writing' and 'speaking'. My take two was for 'reading' and 'listening' but I still failed (needing only 1 point for my listening test, and 15 points for my reading). Sigh! Problem is, my compulsory exam deadline is November next year, or else I get deported! I was told I can take B1 instead (lower level) for the 2 remaining exams, but I can't use that level diploma to look for a job based on my work experience/background. I'm now torn between taking B2 level again (I was THIS close!) versus B1 (to get it over with) then try B2 much later on...but I've only got so much time left! Anybody on almost the same boat as me?? Any websites/teaching materials you can give to help me? I appreciate it!

Hi

I'm learning Dutch too and found lessons in Roelof Hartplein that are not too expensive. If you wish, I can give to you more details.
The OBA ( public library ) has computers and books for learning Dutch (  5 th floor , OBA near central station ).
You can access them everyday and on certain days ( Mondays and Tuesdays ) there are people to help you . All you need is a library subscription ...
There are a lot of English books too  -:)
Contact me if you wish more information.

Kind Regards
