french citizenship

hello all,

not exactly an ex-pat, but an american wishing for french citizenship.  any amreicans out ther who have moved to france from here, esp. California?  Am running into stonewalls trying to get the right info on this idea.  any ideas?

Just last week I went to the Préfecture ask for a file for French citizenship.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I need to recover before I read the to-do-list again! :/
