I am working as a social media expert. I want to know if I can get a job in the country? I have 1 year of experience. Can you tell me the cost of living?

This comes up more than anything else, so I'm just going to copy & paste my response.

It's almost impossible to tell people how expensive Hong Kong is.聽 Everyone's experience will be different.聽

What you pay in rent will vary greatly depending on location, size and type of apartment.聽 The expat and business areas are far more expensive.聽 Prices drop dramatically just a few MTR stops away.聽 My apartment would cost 3 times as much at Mid-Levels and half at Tai Po.聽 My best advice is that you probably don't need to be so close to your job.聽 The MTR works very well.聽 It also helps to bring a Chinese person with you when you look at apartments.

It's a very large city with a lot of variety.聽 I don't think there's any such thing as an average price here.
