Gutbuster style breakfast/fish n chips

Post new topic

Where in KL can i find somewhere that does a dirty big fried breakfast?

I'm talking: proper sausages (not hot dogs or frankfurters), bacon, eggs, black and white pudding (unlikely), liver (optional),baked beans, fried bread, fried tomatoes, mushrooms and onions.

While I am at it, is there anywhere that does good fish and chips? I know cod is probably unlikely, but somewhere that has proper fish, not some kind of mashed fishy bits, and proper fat chips, none of your French fries.

We have many good restaurant in Curve Damansara,,,,must be very far you ?

barrycaffrey

Thank you Jackcoll, I bow to your gourmet knowledge of KL.

I will give Manhattan Fish market a look and pay a visit to Curve Damansara.

Do you know of any Irish pub that is open in the morning for breakfast?

For a good fry up I would suggest Antipodean Cafe. They serve pork sausages and real bacon as well as eggs etc. Not sure about the black/white pudding though.

They have an outlet in KLCC and another in Bangsar. I prefer the Bangsar one though!

+1 for Antipodean in Bangsar.

I'm told there is a British style chippy in Changkat but have not been there yet.

Not handy for KL I know but if you're ever in Langkawi, make sure you check out Scarborough Fish and Chips

Been to the Antipodean Cafe. Food and coffee were good, but fairly expensive. I went there shortly after I arrived, so I was probably a little more shocked on their prices than I would be now.

barrycaffrey

I live near Changkat, does anyone know where the chippy is?

yahonza

am guessing its this:

Hi barrycaffrey

Irish pubs only open at 4 pm to 12 am . They serve pork mostly pork sausages and bacon in the menu

The Manhattan Fish Market i like so far, let me know  if you come over the curve ..we can meet up then .

Why not you try to walk around Changkat area you might find good restaurant indeed

Before this i like TGV friday menu,,,,,nowdays getting very bad and expensive as well. Chili are yummy food

It's called "The Magnificent Fish Bar" RH side of Changat Bukit Bintang about half way up, costs about RM50.  There's a good Tapas Bar further up on the same side.

Well after all the recommendations, I have recently tried the Antipodean Cafe. A bit disappointed by the 'Big' Breakfast. Not very big and mainly mushrooms, scrambled eggs, one smallish pork sausage and a potato croquette, which I liked. Looks like I will be having my breakfasts in future in the evenings in Irish pubs.

The Manhattan Fish Market was also not what i was looking for. As it says on the tin, this is American with Clam showdair, shrimp, lobster etc.

I think i will give the magnificent Fish and Chips a look this evening, as it is Friday. I am starting to sound like a food critic or a bit of a whinger (maybe both), which I certainly am not. I will eat anything, but i am just getting a little tired of cold chicken and rice 3 times a day.
