International mums in Bucharest

Post new topic

Ireandra

Hi, I am a Romanian repat, my husband and I have two kids and we've been living in different countries for the last 11 years, Switzerland, Cyprus, Ireland and Canada (only my husband, he grew up in Vancouver). We are coming back to Romania at the end of this week. Our children are fluent in Greek, English and Romanian and we would love to find some nice mums and kids to play/ chat with. We are homeschooling our children (8yrs/10yrs old) using the Irish curriculum and we hope to be ready to move to Canada in the next year and a half. We have lots of books to share so please come and meet us :)

Welcome to ½ûÂþÌìÌà Ireandra!;)

Patience Ireandra! Your post is still new ;)

Ireandra

Patience I have plenty, but I'm running out of time :) I was hoping to meet mums with kids, so my children can play and talk to others and not miss their friends in Ireland too much :) But I guess that I have to wait a bit longer, patiently :)

Ireandra - I will be moving from Dublin with my wife and three small children in April, so hang tight!  Im very interested in your plan to home-school the children...something we have been thinking about also.

Ireandra

Whohoo, can't wait for you to come! Tell me you'll be moving to Bucharest, please :D
I can help you with any questions or suggestions you might have.

Hi Ireandra,
I'm a repat as well. Arrived from Singapore a few weeks ago and am in the same situation. My 5 years old daughter is missing her friends as we don't have much friends here in Bucharest.

My name is Oriela and my contact number is 0723 576 342.
My daughter might be to young to play with your kids, but we could still meet up.

Regards,
Oriela

Looking forward to meet you also,I have 2 small kids and so many friends in Bucharest. My eldest one feels quite lonely here.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything in the moving process.
I know it's not easy.

All the best,
Oriela

Ireandra

Hi, Oriela, welcome! We are already in Bucharest, unpacked and everything :) I will call you tomorrow and maybe we can meet one of this days. Where about are you in Bucharest?

ainhk

Yes - we are moving to Bucharest, looking to live in around Aviatii or Floreasca.  The kiddies dont arrive until first week in April, although I am travelling next week.  I think we will homeschool the children next year, so perhaps it might be good to do this as a group so that the kids can have some school friends?????

Ireandra

Hi, good to hear from you again! We will be living veeeery far away from me and I'll try to come there with the kids like once a week, but otherwise we can see each other more in the city center. But we can work on it to see what's the best solution :)Anyhow, I will try to help you with any information you'll need regarding your life here and/or homeschooling, though I'm not an expert at any of this :) Give me a pm when you have time and I'll give you my phone number. Safe flight!
p.s. btw, the Guinness here sucks, though they say it's imported from Ireland, but you'll find no stout in it, it's more like Heineken :D

Hello! I am a homeschooling mom from the US. We've been in Bucharest for almost a year. My children are 8, 6, 4, and 2. The youngest is a boy and the older 3 girls. We live in the Vitan area of Bucharest and frequently visit Parcul Tineretului as that is the easiest for us to get to via tramvai. We are trying to learn Romanian, but it's a slow process.

Ireandra

Guys, I would be delighted to meet you, why don't we all gather at a park, like Herastrau (Aviatorilor), Cismigiu or Tineretului? This Friday the weather's gonna be great, we can meet in the morning or afternoon! Let me know soon :)

Hi, we come often to the Mall Vitan to watch movies, especially Mondays when the ticket price is 1+1 free :)

Hi Ireandra!

I'm from Bucharest and I would like to help repats to adapt in Bucharest and also to practice my English! It is a requirement for my job.

Can you help me with some friends english speakers?

Thank you

Hi, I don't have to many English speaking friends, I just came back :)

Ireandra

C'mon, ladies, I really wanna meet you, the weather is great, let's go to a park tomorrow! :)

jessiestimp

I will likely be at Tineretului tomorrow afternoon around 2:30 or 3:00 because my daughters met a little 10 year old girl there last week and she goes there every week, so they want to play together more. We will be at the playground area that is somewhat near the big entrance on Sincai. If you walk down the main corridor of the park, past the big hill, there is a large playground on the right, back in the trees. That is where we will likely be. My 4 kids are all blondies, so it will be hard to miss us. We stay until about 5:00 or so.

borisrex

Hi unfortunately we can't make it tomorrow, but i would love to meet up next Wednesday afternoon if that suited.

Let me know and we'll make our way to the park.

Many thanks

Christine

Ireandra

Great, we'll be there!

Ireandra

We're flexible, let me know when you're planning to go to the park and we come there.

borisrex

Perfect, it will more than likely between 3 and 5 pm in the aftenoon nextwednesday. I will post again next week to confirm same.

Hi borisrex.  My daughters plus mammy will be over in a few more weeks from Dublin, so we should arrange to meet.  I think we will be living up near her herastrau, so not too far. Alan

Hi, Aideen, welcome to Bucharest! I would love to meet up with you, we'll bring some books too :D What do you say about next week, seems that this week the weather is terrible and we won't be able to go to the park. I'll leave you my phone number on pm and we'll keep in touch. See you soon, Andreea.
