Hello, I am wondering does anybody know what is the law in vietnam regarding two foreigners living together when they are not married nor siblings. (i know it is illegal if one of the people is vietnamese).
Very grateful for any help, or suggestion for finding this out. jamie.

It's fine as long as your house is legal.
I mean allowed for the foreigners to live.

Jamie the problem is not all police officials are on the same sheet of music when it comes to this type of living arrangements. You'll need a good landlord to smooth things when it comes time to do the đăng ký tạm trú with them.

Jamie,

Technically, it is illegal for people of opposite sexes to cohabitate here.  The ward police can flat out refuse to register you.  However, in practice, this law is seldom enforced.  If anyone enforces this part of the law upon you, s/he must not have liked something about you.  Other than that, it is all good.  Just remember to send some cigarettes or beers with your landlord, when it comes time to renew your visa.
