Has anyone recent experience of getting a multiple entry/exit visa from the Libyan embassy in London? I would welcome all tips on how to make it as pain free as possible as I am expecting it not to go smoothly!
Re-entry visas are issued in Libya...
Even if your just here on a tourist visa?
I'm not entirely sure what you're asking!
Are you in London or Tripoli?
Are you visiting or planning to work?
I'm currently here on a tourist visa and have arranged through the local company to get a multi exit/entry visa. This has been sorted and I have to go to London to process it next week.
I'm asking for details of exactly what is required by the visa section in the Libyan embassy so that I go fully prepared.
My understanding was that to get the re entry visa here, you have to already be a resident?

Tut tut.....working on a visitor visa ain't too clever!

Sounds like you need to do your homework. It's all here in this forum, take your mouse for some exercise...

Good luck my friend, you will need -
Job offer letter from your company
3 months of bank statements
12 (or so) passport photos
Your passport
Money (can't remember how much it costs and I have only been here two months )
I am sure there was more, but you will find it all on this forum.
Probably what Tarkus is talking about is a multiple entry Business visa.
If the company has already applied for the multiple entry visa and it is approved then it would be stamped no problem. All the approvals and processing is done here in Libya. The overseas embassies just ask for various papers to show that they are the ones making the decision on granting visas.
In case of business visa (not work visa) you will need a letter from the sponsor in Libya stating they will require you to visit the country on a number of occasions spanning 6 months etc etc........
You will still have to sumit your bank statements, travel insurance and other documents as required by the embassy. Call and check with them to confirm before applying or you may end up forfeiting your visa fee if you get denied due to incomplete paperwork.

Amir
What's the difference between a business visa and working visa?
Can work in Libya person who has a business visa?
They are two different entry permissions:
A business visa allows you to attend meetings, make presentations etc. No paid work within Libya is permitted.
A work visa allows you to be employed by a Libyan company. Huh.
When booking through a tour company they say the visa is good for 30 days, ( so after a 5 day tour)they say they return you to the airport safely, does that mean you have to leave or can you extend your stay independantly and remain for a few more days without a hassle.
A 30 day visa does what it says on the tin...
I do not understand what you mean by that Sandman..sorry I am english speaking but you got me there. Please elaborate.
30 days means you get 30 days in Libya
When you have a work visa and come to work in Libya after how much time a family can come to live with you?
I came out here on a work visa with Mrs Mudman. That's one reason, apart from Libyan efficiency, my visa took a while to process.
Once I'd got my own residence visa / work permit, it took another 7 weeks for the approvals for my wife and daughter to come through.
This was pretty quick, compared to some stories I've heard.
I came on a mutiple visa valid for three months and now want to extend it. Howmany more monts extention I can obtain
when should one apply for a visa, hoping to travel mid september. with ramadan starting mid august when should i apply in order to get the approval. I am not sure how many days you have to enter after the approval is given so god forbid i apply to early or too late ( that would really suck!)Any advise is greatly appreciated.
Well, we are talking about the Libyan embassy in Canada and you plan on leaving around Eid....good luck!Ìý No, really that is going to be a hard one.Ìý I would apply in mid-July.Ìý They usually give 40-45 days to get to destination, plus on your visa application you put down departure dates.Ìý Don't forget you will need to have your husband send you letter to the embassy through immigration here in Libya for the visa.Ìý Ramadan is a not a good time to deal with the embassy and it is in summer too, so you will have many employees on holidays.Ìý You should consider coming for Ramadan. It is a really nice time for families.Ìý Ìý

If she is going on a tourist visa, it would probably be better to do airport pick up on arrival in Tripoli.
The Libyan bureau in Ottawa can be slow (especially during Ramadan).Ìý If you need a business visa for September then I would apply in early July as you recommend.Ìý The visas coming out of Ottawa are good for entry within a month of the data on the visa.Ìý All the visas I have seen from Canada were dated for the date of issue.
Great i did suspect that ramadan would be a slow processing time. So i plan to go for september tenth if i apply just after mid July say around the 25th I should get the approval about five days later and should have 40-45 days to enter from that point. Thats a couple of weeks ahead of ramadan so hopefully it will be processed before it starts.Ìý I have a letter from him and he has one there as well. I believe it will be a visitors/wife visa(multiple entry visa)We will be applying for not sure how long that is for it doesnt say online. Thanks guys and gals your great!
When I came, I had a visitor visa and then once here, he applied for the residence visa and multi-entry visa for me.Ìý Since your married to a Libyan you should not have any problems with the other visas.Ìý
