Yes you'll need to give the test. No trainings from their Academy though (unless you fail the test). Almost eveyone passes, so don't worry.

TLL, I dont know the actual procedure for US/Canadian DL holders. But from our office people holding DL from these countries get the Saudi DL without any procedure except submitting some documents and the Translation of the native country's DL to arabic !!

Most probably it would be converted.
