to bring or not to bring your car from the US?

Hi,

We currently live in California and drive a 2011 Touareg and 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera. Does anybody have any experience with the shipping, inspections and licensing process that are involved in bringing both an old and a new car into Switzerland? My gut tells me that it's far less hassle to sell them and buy/lease in Switzerland. And I can only imagine the torture that the engine intake, exterior paint, wheels, and suspension will suffer in the journey.

And, yet, perhaps the cup is actually half full instead of half empty. Any thoughts out there?

No, too difficult. Just buy a new one here

I shipped a car from California to Israel more than a few years ago.  Had I known then what I know now I would not have done it.  The paperwork for Switzerland is obviously different but high performance automobiles do not appreciate the shipping process.
