Commute time, Southbank to Bayswater?

Moving from HK to Melbourne for work within the next few weeks. Anybody able to advise the average "peak hour" commute time from Southbank area to Bayswater? I would presume it would be heading against the bulk of the traffic as most would be heading into the city, not out. Any info much appreciated.

just found this post today, not sure the answer would be still helpful for you or too late.

Baywater is sort of end of zone 2 for the train line, its about 30kms not sure exactly.

yes its out-bound traffic, so opposite to everyone during peak time, so might only take 30mins to 45 mins to get there from Southbank, as you need to drive past the CBD to get into the freeway to Baywater.
