looking for a "western" nightclub in hanoi

Post new topic

eranh

hi guys and girls.

im living in Vietnam for the next couple of month's, and i am looking for a good place to dance in hanoi. ive been to the local Vietnamese disco and it was too loud, and all together a very disappointing experience. the only good disco i know i Vietnam is the sailing club in nha trang. it is relaxed, with good music, good drinks and a good mix of locals and foreigners.

im looking for the same experience in hanoi, a good place to dance, but not like the local Vietnamese clubs. can anyone recommend a good place?

hi.

thanks, nice to be here :)

an update, been to hang buom street, near hoan kiem, the street is full of pubs, some for locals, some mixed, and some mostly filled with foreigners (like the dragonfly). had time only to check one of them, i think its called la lorrech or something like that, went inside because of the live music sign, but found out that live music means that there is a band without a singer and the crowd can step up to the stage and sing them-self (karaoke western style). stays there a while, had some drinks and shisa, enjoyed a lot.

still looking for a good place to dance tough...

thanks, but in which district? can you give me more details on the place please?

doanlinh

if you like the kind of pub which has good music and where you can chat without shouting at the other person's face you should check out Far Cat Bar at 25 Ta Hien street. If you're looking for some place to dance, go to Hair of The Dog. It's at 32 Ma May. There are a lot of foreigners there. I've been to it once. The music was good. The price was reasonable.

eranh

doanlinh - thanks.

as a matter of fact "the hair of the dog" was on the same street where the "la lorach" was. i saw it and picked inside but didn't have time to stay and try it. ill do it next time im in hanoi.

id anyone here like to dance and would like to join, just say :)

Hi,

After midnight, you've only the Phuc tan, not far to the air of the dog, a lot of expatriate, some musics westerners and very dirty. Good place to drink and finish the night.
When the Police don't come before. :)

i need to go back to hai duong the same day so usually i wrap it up around 11:30-12:00, but thanks anyway. is this place in the same street btw?

guys, i really appreciate the recommendations, but im not from hanoi, and street names alone wont help me find it - i really need district name. hanoi is a big city.

thanks to everybody who post here

Nice place!!

There's one next to the Plaza hotel, it's called the NextStop club. I happened to go there when i was wondering where the music was coming while staying at the hotel. It's pricey and flashy and has Easter European ladies on the stage dancing after 10. This was maybe 6-7 months ago so better google check whether they are still around. Lot's of security and quite intimidating place unlike the watering holes of HCM.

You can meet Couch Surfing Hanoi. That's a big funny group of foreigners traveling/working in Viet Nam & Vietnamese people who can communicate in English. They have activities for eating, traveling, playing sports, and of course going to western bars or non-western bars together every week. Whatever you want to know about Viet Nam, you can find from that club. Besides, you can make friend with a lot of interesting people there.
I'm not yet a member of that club but sometimes I join them for fun.
You can search for them with the keyword "Couch Surfing Hanoi". Hope to see you there! ;)

Or you can go to the site cshanoi.com. I've just found it

Hope that you will come back someday in the future.
Wish you well :)
